Audemars Piguet Unveils New Royal Oak And Code 11.59 Models

New High-Complication Timepieces

Audemars Piguet has expanded its luxury collection with the introduction of five new watches, highlighting a blend of acoustic innovation and aesthetic refinement. The release is headlined by three Minute Repeater Supersonnerie models, which build upon a foundation established by the Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie first unveiled in 2016. That original model was the result of nearly a decade of development, designed specifically to achieve a remarkably loud and clear chime through advanced acoustic construction. The new additions maintain this underlying architecture while introducing updated materials and visual styles to appeal to contemporary tastes.

These three chiming watches are powered by the Calibre 2953. This movement was introduced in 2019 as a direct evolution of the Caliber 2937 and the Calibre 2874SS that graced the first Supersonnerie. The Calibre 2953 features a power reserve of 72 hours and includes a small seconds counter positioned at 6 o’clock. A key technical highlight is the game-changing Supersonnerie technology, which utilizes patented gongs anchored to a bespoke soundboard rather than directly to the mainplate. By avoiding direct attachment to the mainplate, the watch achieves superior clarity, volume, and tone, ensuring the chime is both distinct and powerful.

Royal Oak And Code 11.59 Variations

Two of the new chiming watches are Royal Oak models featuring 42 mm cases. These timepieces retain all of the model’s defining signatures, including the integrated bracelet and the iconic octagonal bezel. One version utilizes a titanium case paired with a smoked green sunburst dial, listed at a price of 351,100 Swiss francs. The second version features a pink-gold case and a brown Grande Tapisserie dial, priced at 391,400 francs. According to the brand, this specific model marks the first time a pink-gold case has been used within this particular line of repeaters.

The third chiming timepiece is a Code 11.59, priced at 325,000 francs. This model is crafted with a white-gold case that includes a fully polished middle section. It is distinguished by a smoked sapphire dial, which offers a translucent quality that allows the internal mechanical workings of the watch to be highlighted and visible to the wearer, blending technical transparency with high-end jewelry standards.

Natural Stone Aesthetics In Code 11.59

In addition to the high-complication repeaters, Audemars Piguet has released two new Code 11.59 watches that focus on the use of natural stone dials. These models feature 38 mm cases and reflect a broader trend of using minerals on watch faces. The brand, along with other avant-garde maisons such as Rolex and Piaget, has put stones and minerals on watch faces since the 1970s. As interest from modern collectors in these materials has jumped aboard the trend, the brand has ramped up its output of stone-dialed timepieces to meet this demand.

For this latest release, the brand has chosen to spotlight two dark stones to create a sophisticated and moody look. The first model combines a yellow-gold case with a gold obsidian dial, with a price tag of $57,500. The second model features a pink-gold case paired with a black onyx dial, which is further accented by diamond hour markers; this version is priced at $68,500. These natural stone dials provide a unique organic texture that contrasts with the precision of the gold cases.

Unlike the chiming models, these two natural stone watches are powered by the Calibre 5909. This movement provides a 60-hour power reserve, ensuring reliable performance for the wearer. By combining these different technical approaches—from the complex acoustic engineering of the Supersonnerie to the organic elegance of obsidian and onyx—the brand continues to diversify its offerings across its most famous collections. The integration of rare materials and advanced movements demonstrates a commitment to both traditional craftsmanship and modern luxury trends, marking a strong start to the month of November.
